Nabob House

One of the stations of the tourist development is the „Nábobház“ in Major, which belongs to the former administrator

made of lacquer. The name of the house pays tribute to the founder of Kígyós, Antal József Wenckheim.

Over time, the house was the residence of the count’s stewards. The exhibition consists of four exhibition halls.

Nabob Room:

This living room pays tribute to the Hungarian Nabob, Antal József Wenckheim. Here you can see an authentic copy of the Nabob’s dress and the ball dress of the young Countess Krisztina.

Reminiscence room:

Those who enter here can experience the atmosphere of rural bourgeois life of the time. Also, the memorial corner for Kálmán Pándi, who was born in this house, was located here.

Wenckheim hunting room:

In this room, you can see the hunting exhibition of László Gróf Wenckheim, Wenckheim

About safaris, for which the exhibition material was brought home from Argentina.

History room:

In this room, we get an idea of the origins of the Wenckheim family, life in Major, and the economy.

After viewing the rooms, feel free to sit out on the terrace, where you can enjoy the Majori atmosphere and the smell of the countryside.
